1. It's best to measure your dog while standing.

2. Don't rely on weight. Weight can be a factor in finding the correct size but can't be the only factor you want to go by because dogs come in all shapes and sizes. The only absolute way to choose the right size is to go by their measurements.

3. Chest circumference: With a soft measuring tape or string, measure around the widest part of your dog's torso.

4. Back length: Measure the length from the lower edge of the collar to the base of the tail.

5. Neck circumference: Measure around your dog's neck where the collar should sit.
